Monday October 23 – Arrival
Morning 10:05am:
Land at Ben Gurion Airport; meet guide
Continue to Tel Aviv

Noon:
All participants will meet at Ben Gurion Airport to begin group trip
Walking tour of the ancient seaport of Jaffa See the entrance to the house of Simon the Tanner. Hear the story of Jonah and The whale

Free time to visit shops and galleries

Tuesday October 24 – Jaffa & Tel Aviv
Morning:
Breakfast at the hotel
Visit Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion declared the establishment of
The State of Israel on May 14, 1948.
Continue to arts & crafts fair on Nachalat Binyamin Street. Free time for
shopping and lunch at the fair and in neighboring Carmel Market

Afternoon:
Excursion to the Caesarea National Park; tour park, with archaeological ruins
spanning over 2000 years including an impressive Roman theater and beautifully
reserved aqueduct.
Return to Tel Aviv.

Wednesday October 25 – Caesarea, Megiddo & Nazareth
Morning
After breakfast, check out of hotel
Drive up the coast and stop at the Muhraka on Mt. Carmel (site of the contest
between Elijah and the priests of Ba’al.)
Visit Megiddo National Park, the site of “Armageddon” where the great battle
between the sons of light and the sons of darkness is to take place according to
the Book of Revelation

Visit Church of the Annunciation
Drive to Sea of Galilee
Check in to hotel

Dinner at the hotel followed by time together to discuss the day

Thursday October 26 – The Golan Heights
Morning
After breakfast we stop at Kibbutz Ginosar to see a wooden boat from the first century C.E. (A.D.), known as “the Jesus Boat”
Drive north to the Banias, whose powerful water serves as one of the sources of
The Jordan River and is the site of Caesarea Philippi
Visit Mt Bental, overlooking site of decisive tank battle during 1973 Yom Kippur
War; view into the Syrian city of Kuneitra, from a decommissioned army bunker

Visit the Golan Heights Winery
Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee

Friday October 27 – Around the Sea of Galilee

Visit Magdala Project, site of excavations of 1st Century Jewish fishing village
where synagogue from the time of Jesus has been discovered
Drive to Mt of Beatitudes, traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount
Visit Capernaum, Jesus’ base during his ministry in the north

Optional baptism ceremony at Yardenit Baptismal site
Drive south via Jordan Valley to Jerusalem

Option of visiting prayers at the Western Wall

Drive to Mount of Olives for panoramic view of Old & New Jerusalem

Enter Old City via Lions’ Gate; visit Church of St Anne and the Pools of Bethesda
Walk along Via Dolorosa to Christian Quarter

Visit Church of the Holy Sepulcher
Continue to Room of the Last Supper on Mt Zion

Visit City of David, where Jerusalem began 3,000 years ago

Lunch on own in Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem’s colorful open-air market
Visit the Israel Museum including the Shrine of the Book, housing some of the
Dead Sea scrolls found in Qumran; then see the famous Second Temple model of
the city of Jerusalem; opportunity to visit other exhibitions in museum on own

Meet at the Tower of David for the “Night Spectacular” sound and light show

Monday October 30 – To the Lowest Place on Earth
Morning

Early morning departure for the Dead Sea region
Visit Qumran, site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947
Drive to Masada; ascend by cable car and tour site; learn about the King Herod
as well as about the Zealots’ last stand in 73 A.D. Descend by cable car

Enjoy spa facilities at a hotel on the Dead Sea
Float/swim on Dead Sea
